Waterford Civic Trust was established in 1990, set up pursue a range of objectives centred on the renewal of historical buildings and the enhancement of the architectural heritage of Waterford. The Waterford Civic Trust promotes civic pride as a means to improving the quality of life for all and encourages community action, good design, sustainable development and respect for the built environment amongst people of all ages.
Blackfriars Tower – Roof Restoration
A number of medieval structures survive in Waterford City. These include several sections of the city walls and gates, the remains of several domestic structures, a bridge over John’s River and the remains of three religious houses. The latter are the Franciscan Friary, the Benedictine priory of St. John the Evangelist and the Dominican priory of St. Saviour’s. The Dominican priory, known as Blackfriars, stands in the medieval city, also the present city centre.
Shadows of the Past
Shadows of the Past a photographic stroll through old Waterford began as an exhibition mounted by Waterford Civic Trust as part of the Tall Ships Festival in Waterford City during July 2005.
Watercolours of Waterford
A collection of watercolours of Waterford by local artist John O’Regan, commissioned by Waterford Civic Trust and sponsored by local bodies and companies.
The Blue Plaque Trail
Waterford Civic Trust has installed almost 40 Blue Plaques in the city to commemorat links between a location and a famous person or event.

Waterford Civic Trust is pleased to announce the availability of a set of Christmas Cards this year titled Scenes of Waterford. The paintings are part of the Waterford Municipal Art Collection and we would like to thank Waterford City Council for permission to use these images.
